Field Trips C-N-C
children go on monthly field trips when the weather
permits. (During the summer two field trips are typically
planned each month.) Field trip destinations usually include
the Philadelphia Art Museum, Please Touch Museum, the zoo, and Chuck
E. Cheese.
Safety of your child is of the upmost importance so we
provide transportation on buses equipped with seat
belts. We also require that children three years old and
younger bring their car seats. Parents are invited
to attend our field trips as chaperones.
Computer Lab Our computers
are equipped with software programs from the JumpStart ®,
Reader Rabbit®, and other educational series. The programs
we've selected are designed especially for pre- school and pre-k children.
In addition
to reinforcing reading, math, and other
cognitive skills, the computer lab gives the children an
opportunity to build confidence in using a computer. They learn
to turn the system on and off, manipulate
the mouse and keyboard, and access and
exit programs. The children really enjoy using the
computers and view this activity as a treat. Please note
that our computers are not connected to the
Internet.
Outdoor Activities The
children love being outdoors and C-N-C takes full
advantage of this natural resource. We play in the yard,
go to parks, and take walks around the neighbor-hood. During
warmer weather the children often go to Jenks or
Water Tower playgrounds which offer additional equipment and
activities.
We believe in
keeping our children hydrated especially during the hot months.
We take frequent water breaks and offer the children water
as necessary. Physical activity is important for gross motor
development and we have incorporated it into our
programs.
